Green River rafters will start in Kanaskat-Palmer State Park and paddle through notorious class III and Class IV rapids like “Mercury”, “The Nozzle”, “Pipeline” and “Win, Lose or Draw” as they pass by majestic waterfalls cascading down the 300 foot greenery covered canyon walls. What to expect:

1. Pull into parking lot and park vehicles. 2. Check in with us and receive participation waiver which you will then read through, fill out and sign. 3. All minors will have to have a parent or legal guardian signature to participate in rafting trip. If a minor will not be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian then you will need to have the waiver filled out and signed before the trip. 4. A Wildwater staff member will then get you the gear you will need for the river trip. This is a great time to change into the equipment for the river and use your vehicle as a personal locker. 5. We will store your keys in a secure location while you are on the river. 6. Everyone will load up into a Wildwater vehicle and ride the shuttle to the put-in/launch site. 7. You will then participate in a Trip Talk given by a Wildwater staff member that goes over helpful information about the river trip, how to sit in the raft, proper paddling techniques, and additional useful information to help prepare you for what is to come. 8. After the trip talk you will split into raft groups and meet your guide for the trip. 9. Your guide will go through basic river rafting instruction before putting on the river. 10. Now it’s time to go rafting! 11. At the end of the trip you will take-out back in Cashmere at the Riverside Park. You will then have the chance to change into dry clothing and return all river gear you used to Wildwater staff members.

What you'll need:

Wildwater provides all of  the river equipment  that you will need. The equipment includes a top of the line neoprene sleeveless wetsuit, neoprene booties for your feet, a helmet, and a PFD (personal floatation device).  *Summer days were the weather reaches 80 degrees or higher a neoprene wetsuit isn’t necessary. Please plan accordingly and bring clothes to wear on the river. (example: shorts, bathingsuit, tank top). Avoid cotton clothes.

For the river trip we suggest you bring:

  • Swimsuit or swim trunks to wear under the wetsuit provided
  • Sunglasses - must have croakie attachment (Sunny days)
  • Cold Spring days: If you are worried about getting cold on the trip you can bring extra layers Fleece, wool, and polypropylene materials work best. Avoid anything made of cotton.

Route - from Highway 18:

  • You will take Auburn-Black Diamond Road exit. Then turn right onto Auburn-Black Diamond Road.
  • Take a right turn onto Green Valley Road. Continue for several miles to the Flaming Geyser State Park entrance sign and go to the picnic/parking/restroom area.
  • Look for a Wildwater vehicle, or sign. If  you are lost please call 1.509.470.8558
